Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes come after evenings of air raids in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
